LSAC GPA Calculator
Law schools see the GPA LSAC calculates, not the one on your transcript. Add your classes or paste them from your transcript to get your LSAC cumulative GPA.

What counts in your LSAC GPA
Counted: every graded undergraduate course before your first bachelor's degree, from every school, including every attempt of a repeated course. College credit earned in high school counts for the 2026-2027 cycle, but not from 2027-2028 on.
Counted as 0.00: failing notations such as F, NC and U, and WF or incompletes unless your school treats them as nonpunitive.
Not counted: passing grades from pass/fail systems, nonpunitive withdrawals, AP credit, remedial and noncredit courses, and anything after your first bachelor's degree.
Schools with numeric or unusual grading scales are converted by LSAC using the school's own grading key, so check your CAS report once your transcripts are processed.
Frequently asked questions
How does LSAC calculate GPA?
LSAC converts every grade on every undergraduate transcript to its own scale (A+ is 4.33, A is 4.00, A- is 3.67 and so on), weights each grade by its credit hours, and averages them. Every college you attended before your first bachelor’s degree counts, including community college.
Does an A+ count as 4.33?
Yes. LSAC counts an A+ as 4.33 even if your school caps it at 4.00, so your LSAC GPA can be higher than your transcript GPA.
Do retaken classes count?
Yes. LSAC counts every attempt of a repeated course that appears on your transcript, even if your school replaced the old grade. Forgiven grades still count unless they are removed from the transcript.
Do pass/fail and withdrawn classes count?
Passing grades from pass/fail systems are not converted. Any failing notation (fail, no credit, unsatisfactory) converts to 0.00. A plain W, a WF and an incomplete are left out only if your school treats them as nonpunitive; otherwise they count as 0.00.
Do dual enrollment or college classes taken in high school count?
For the 2026-2027 application cycle, yes: grades for college credit earned in high school are included. Starting with the 2027-2028 cycle, LSAC will exclude them for all applicants. AP credit never counts.
What about quarter hours?
LSAC reports everything in semester hours. Quarter hours are multiplied by 0.67 and trimester hours count the same as semester hours. Check the quarter hours box if your school used quarters.
Do graduate grades count?
No. Coursework after your first bachelor’s degree is conferred is not part of the LSAC GPA, though law schools still see it on your report.
